St. Joseph: was established in the mid 1850’s, and named after a local church. The city was incorporated in 1890 and is now part of the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was listed at 6,534 during the 2010 census and is now estimated to be 6,900.
Some of the city’s major landmarks include St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Benedict’s Monastery, and The College of St. Benedict which is an all-women’s Catholic college. When in the downtown are you can’t miss the beautiful high spires of St. Joseph’s Church along with the rotunda and dome of the Monastery and College Chapel. The architecture is very different from other buildings in the area and the spires are visible from miles away.
